The Amplex Antispam server can be configured to have a quarantine inbox. A quarantine inbox allows you to send messages of a specific spam score to this holding area where you will receive a daily or weekly e-mail report and be allowed to deliver, whitelist or reject individual e-mails waiting in the quarantine box.
By default the quarantine box is not enabled on the Antispam server. To enable this feature please see the help article on adjusting your spam scoring settings which can be found by clicking here. Any messages that meet the spam score you selected for quarantine will be stored in the quarantine inbox for up to 30 days or until you select an action for each message whichever is sooner.
How To View Your Quarantine Inbox
Begin by logging in to the Antispam server at https://antispam.amplex.net
- Your username is your full e-mail address.
- Your password is your e-mail account password.
Click the Login button.
The below image shows the login screen where I’ve typed in the username [email protected] and my password. Click Sign In
You will now be shown your quarantine inbox. You will see the time the message was received, the e-mail address the message is from, the subject and links for actions you can take on the message. The options available are:
Deliver – Send the message to your e-mail inbox. Your message should appear in the next few minutes in your e-mail.
Whitelist – Send the message to your e-mail inbox and add the sender’s e-mail address to your whitelist.
Delete – Delete the message from your quarantine inbox.
In the example below I have 4 messages shown in the quarantine inbox dated.
How To Preview A Message
You can click on the subject line of the message from the quarantine inbox or click the view link next to the message on the daily or weekly e-mail to view the message. The message will then open in a new window and allow you to see the contents of the message before deciding what to do with it. You can close the message preview window when you are done viewing the contents of the message.
In the screenshot below I clicked on the subject line of a message to see the contents of a message.
How To Deliver A Message
In the quarantine inbox, or from the daily or weekly e-mail you receive showing your new quarantine messages, you can click deliver next to the message you wish to deliver. Once you click deliver a green message will appear that says “Requested message(s) delivered to your e-mail inbox and deleted from quarantine” and the message will disappear from your quarantine inbox and appear in your e-mail box in the next few minutes.
How To Whitelist A Message
In the quarantine inbox, or from the daily or weekly e-mail you receive showing your new quarantine messages, you can click Whitelist to deliver the message and add the senders e-mail address to your whitelist. Once you click whitelist a green message will appear that says “Requested sender(s) whitelisted and message(s) delivered to email inbox and deleted from quarantine” and the message will disappear from your quarantine inbox and appear in your e-mail box in the next few minutes. Future messages from this sender will also bypass the quarantine inbox even if the spam score system believes the message is spam as the senders e-mail address is now on your whitelist.
How To Delete A Message
In the quarantine inbox, or from the daily or weekly e-mail you receive showing your new quarantine messages, you can click Delete to delete the message from your quarantine inbox. This will permanently remove the message. Once you click delete a green message will appear that says “Requested message(s) deleted from quarantine” and the message will be removed from the list.
Question: I do not see a message someone tried to send me in the quarantine box, why?
Answer: The quarantine box will only display the last 30 days of messages that met a spam score to be placed in the quarantine box. By default the quarantine box is disabled so please see this article on how to manually adjust spam score options to enable the quarantine inbox. If the message sent to you had a spam score too high it may of been automatically rejected.
Question: Can my quarantine mailbox include more then 30 days worth of quarantined messages?
Answer: At this time, due to the very large number of e-mails Amplex e-mail servers handle, we are only able to store up to 30 days of quarantined messages.
Question: What does an example daily or weekly quarantine e-mail look like? How do I change the notification e-mails from daily or weekly or weekly to daily?
Answer: A sample quarantine e-mail message is shown below. If you want to change the frequency of the notification e-mails you can click “set quarantine notification intervals” at the bottom of the e-mail message.
